A big thanks to all our recent fundraisers!
The goal of this program is to lessen the load on Nairobi's Kibera Slums' single mothers and kids. We aim to provide a range of help and support to ease difficulties and enhance the general wellbeing of individuals impacted.
Issue:
1. Lack of access to education: People living in the urban have limited access to quality education, which can lead to a lack of knowledge about the risks and consequences of drug use and unprotected sex. engage in risky behaviours like unprotected sex.
3. Limited access to resources: Individuals in poverty may not have access to affordable healthcare, including contraception and family planning services, leading to higher rates of unplanned pregnancies.
4. Peer pressure and environment: Living in impoverished communities can expose individuals to peer pressure and environments where drug use and early pregnancies are more common and accepted as norms.
5. Self-medication: People facing economic hardships may turn to drugs as a way to cope with stress, depression, or other mental health challenges due to a lack of access to mental health resources.
Our Vision help :
It's important to address the root causes of poverty and provide support services, education, and resources to help individuals make healthier choices and improve their overall well-being
We'd like to Establish a resource centre to offer assistance and weekly Training on :
- Sexual health education to help lower the frequency of teenage pregnancies.
- Food bank for single mothers
- Sanitary health packs
- Medical assistance
Regular physical activity can act as a healthy stand-in for addictive substances. this activates our reward pathway, which triggers the release of feel-good chemicals like serotonin and dopamine. Therefore we want to support children in weekly classes
- Dancing
- Arts and crafts
- Football
This will assist in developing a new community vision and objective, as well as a pastime that will distract all attention away from addictive substances.
Sustainability and Monitoring
We are looking forward not just about menstrual and reproductive health; it’s about restoring dignity, building confidence, and creating a pathway to economic independence for vulnerable mothers in Kibera. Your support will help transform lives and build stronger families and communities.
